Key terms you'll encounter when using the platform:

Core Concepts

Surtitles

Translated or transcribed text displayed above or beside a stage during live performances. Different from subtitles (which are for recorded video).

Project

A container for your show's scripts and related settings. You can have multiple projects for different shows.

Script

The document containing dialogue, stage directions, and character names that you upload and edit.

Cue

A single line or segment of dialogue that appears on screen at one time. Operators advance from cue to cue.

Deployment

The process of publishing your script to a live cloud service so the audience can view it during the show.

Platform Features

Script Editor

The interface where you edit scripts, manage languages, and prepare content for deployment.

Simulation Mode

A preview environment where you can test how your surtitles will look before going live.

Cockpit (ASM Console)

The operator interface used during live performances to control which cue is displayed. ASM stands for Advanced Show Management.

Viewer

The audience-facing interface where surtitles are displayed. Accessible via QR code or URL.

AI Translation

Machine translation service that translates your script into multiple languages using AI models.

Plan & Billing Terms

Tier

Your subscription level: Free, Lite, or Pro. Each tier has different limits and features.

AI Credits (Tokens)

Virtual currency used for AI features like script analysis and translation. Free credits reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Purchased credits never expire.

Active Project

A project in "Active" status that counts toward your Active Project limit.

Archived Project

A project set to "Archived" status. Doesn't count toward Active Project limit but has its own separate limit.

Invitation Code

A promotional code that grants free trial access to paid features for a limited time.

Team & Roles

Organization

Your account's workspace. Contains all your projects and team members.

Tenant Owner

The person who created the account. Has full control over billing, members, and all projects.

Manager

Team member who can manage projects, deploy shows, and invite Viewers/Editors. Cannot manage billing.

Editor

Team member who can edit scripts but cannot deploy shows or manage team.

Viewer

Team member with read-only access to view scripts but cannot edit or deploy.

Script Terminology

Source Language

The original language of your script (e.g., English, Chinese).

Target Language

The language you want to translate into (e.g., Greek, Japanese).

Role / Character

The name of a character speaking a line (e.g., "Hamlet", "Narrator").

Stage Direction

Non-dialogue text describing actions, settings, or movements (e.g., "[Enter stage left]").

Working Language

The language column currently displayed in the Editor for editing.
