How to Accept a Team Invitation
Accept a team invitation link, handle email verification, and fix the most common account-mismatch blockers.
📨 Quick Guide
Where: Invitation link sent to the invited email address
The page checks: The invitation link, invited email, account match, and email-verification status
New users: Can create the invited account directly from the invitation page
Most common blocker: Signing in with a different email than the one on the invitation
What Happens When You Open the Invite
If your invitation page opens but you still cannot join the team, this is the page to understand first. A team invitation opens a dedicated landing page that checks the invitation first and then shows who invited you, which organization you are joining, which role you were offered, and the exact email address the invitation is tied to.
If You Already Have the Invited Account
- Open the invitation link
- If you are not signed in, continue to Sign In
- Make sure you sign in with the exact email address shown on the invitation page
- Verify your email if the page tells you the account is not verified yet
- Click Join Team
If You Need to Create the Account First
The invitation page can create the invited account directly when you do not already have it.
- The invited email address is prefilled and read-only
- You provide your full name and a new password
- The page sends an email-verification message before it lets you finish joining
- After verification, the page can continue the acceptance flow
Current Guardrails
Email Match Required
If you are signed in as a different email than the invitation target, the page blocks acceptance and tells you to sign out.
Verification Required
An unverified account cannot finish joining until the email-verification step is completed.
If the Invitation Fails
- If the page says the invitation is invalid, the link is likely expired, broken, or no longer usable
- If you see an account-mismatch warning, sign out and use the invited email instead
- If verification is pending, finish verification from the email message before retrying the join action

Why can't I accept my team invitation?+
The most common blockers are using the wrong email address, trying to join before verifying your email, or opening an invalid or expired invitation link.
Can I create an account directly from the invitation page?+
Yes. If you do not already have the invited account, the page can create one for the invited email address and send the verification email from there.
