Version and distribution

This is the English edition. In the App, choose a language from the selector in the top-right corner; your choice is saved on this Mac. Until you choose a language, the App defaults to macOS’s language. The website’s language is independent and does not change the App. This guide was checked against Pockitle Cue for Mac 1.0.0, an internal candidate. There is currently no public download page or automatic update service. These instructions are for teams that have already received the internal app.

Where Pockitle Cue for Mac fits in the caption workflow

After deployment, use Web ASM or Pockitle Cue for Mac to operate the show. The Mac app controls projection and audience-phone captions; it does not author or deploy captions.

  • Editor: write, translate, and review captions on the Web.
  • Deployment workflow: create a show deployment after Simulation and final confirmation. Deployment is a workflow, not the name of the ASM page.
  • Deployment Cockpit: manage a deployed show, its audience and ASM operator links, and live subtitle updates.
  • ASM Console (operator): the browser console for projection and audience-phone captions. If the internet drops, a projection already running in an open browser window can still advance cues locally; phones receive no new cues while disconnected.
  • Pockitle Cue for Mac: the Mac show console for projection and audience-phone captions. Sync a show to the Mac so local cueing and projection can continue during an internet outage. Configure multiple projection displays separately, and adjust text size, vertical position, and color from a projection window’s toolbar. Prepare captions for QLab too; when online with QLab follow enabled, QLab GO can synchronize audience-phone captions.
  • Viewer: the caption page audiences open in a phone browser. Check Pockitle Cue for Mac’s phone status separately to confirm phone connectivity and display.
  • QLab: an optional local show-control app. Pockitle Cue for Mac can create or update its caption cues. QLab owns its Text projection; GO can advance phone captions only when connected follow is enabled.

Web ASM and Pockitle Cue for Mac are two ways to operate the same show. Only one can control audience phones through the cloud at a time. Taking control does not make the other operator’s local projection follow automatically; a working projection does not prove that phones received the cue.

Your account password and the show ASM password are different

Your Pockitle Cue account signs in to Pockitle Cue for Mac for the cloud show list and Sync. To open a particular deployed show, enter that show’s ASM password at Unlock ASM. Ask the show’s deployment or operator administrator for it; it is not your account password. If you already have a valid synced package and offline unlock credentials, local admission may still work without an active account session.

Quick start: prepare, go live, advance, and end

Purpose: Run the shortest complete show-day workflow in Pockitle Cue for Mac.

Before you begin: Get the deployed show, your Pockitle Cue account, and that show’s ASM password. Connect the theatre displays to the operator Mac. If you may need to continue without internet, confirm that this deployment has valid offline unlock credentials; Sync alone does not guarantee offline unlock.

  1. Open Pockitle Cue for Mac from the controlled internal source provided to your team. There is no public download or self-service update page. If you do not have the app, contact the release owner responsible for Pockitle Cue for Mac for this production.
  2. Select Sign in. Pockitle Cue for Mac opens your system browser. Sign in to your Pockitle Cue account, then return to Pockitle Cue for Mac.
  3. Find the deployed show and select Sync to this Mac. Wait for the download and verification to finish.
  4. Select Open Live Console for that show. Enter the show’s ASM password and select Unlock ASM.
  5. Open Projector Settings. Choose how many screens you need and assign A, B, and C to the correct displays. The deployed show determines output languages; you cannot change them here.
  6. If the show uses local projection, open each output you plan to use. Check caption position, size, and safe area on the actual display, then confirm those outputs show Ready. A phone-only show can Go Live without opening a projector window.
  7. Select Go Live. Select Next or press the right arrow to advance. Confirm the caption on the projection window. Check phone connectivity separately.
  8. At the end of the show, select End Show and wait for Console to show that it ended. Select Back to shows only when you are ready to leave this show.

Expected result and audience impact: Go Live starts the local show; any open projection outputs display locally. When connected, Pockitle Cue for Mac also sends control to the cloud. Next updates local projection and attempts to update connected phones. A changed projection does not prove that the cloud acknowledged the command or that a phone received it.

If something goes wrong: If Go Live is disabled or does not start, read its reason and check show readiness. If you are projecting, verify every output you plan to use in Projector Settings → Diagnostics. A phone-only show does not need a projector window; rehearsal warnings alone do not block Go Live. Do not use Quit App as a substitute for End Show.
