5.2 Using Projection Mode Setting

Open Projection Mode Setting from ASM, save the preset, test the Projection Window, and understand what each preset action does.

Use for: Configure the projector-facing preset before the show.

Not for: Audience-phone delivery, subtitle-text editing, or full offline mode.

Open Projection Mode Setting

  1. Open the ASM Console first.
  2. In the ASM top-right header row, click Projection Mode Setting. It is the rounded button beside Projection Screen A and Go Live.
  3. This opens the page titled Projection Setup.

Use the preset bar first

  • Preset name sits in the top-left input area.
  • Save Preset sits in the upper center-left action row and stores this setup on this ASM device for this project.
  • Download Preset downloads a preset file for backup or another computer.
  • Upload Preset loads a preset file into the current setup.
  • Save to Cloud sends the preset to Dashboard-authorized project storage. This may open a Dashboard authorization window.
  • Back to Console is the top-right action for returning to ASM.

Run the built-in checks

  • Use the Calibration Tests row near the top.
  • Show Safe Area Guide helps check the screen boundary.
  • Show Test Card checks the display path before the cue feed matters.
  • Test Current Cue sends the current cue into the preview.
  • Test Blackout checks blackout behavior before the audience enters.

Use the lower panels only when needed

  • Open Advanced settings in the lower part of the page for line height, safe area, max width, max lines, outline, colors, speaker names, and stage directions.
  • Open Diagnostics below that if you need to inspect preset storage, local projection cache, Projection Window status, or the current route.

Check the screen route

  1. Return to the ASM header if needed.
  2. Open Projection Screen A on the computer connected to the projector or LED screen.
  3. Wait for the Projection Window to connect.
  4. Advance one cue from ASM and confirm the Projection Window responds.

What this page does not do

  • It does not replace the audience phone viewer.
  • It does not include subtitle text, runtime links, or tokens inside preset files.
  • It does not claim offline reload support.
  • It does not mean SurtitleLive works without cloud delivery for mobile viewers.

FAQ

Common questions for this workflow, based on the current SurtitleLive system.

Where do I open Projection Mode Setting?+

Open the ASM Console first. In the top-right header row, click Projection Mode Setting. It opens the Projection Setup page.

What does Save Preset actually save?+

Save Preset stores the current projection setup on that ASM device for that project. It does not save subtitle text, runtime links, tokens, or mobile viewer delivery.

Is Projection Mode Setting the same as mobile audience delivery?+

No. Projection Mode Setting is for room-visible projection output. Audience phones still use the Viewer Link or QR-code browser flow.
